Historical data is available on the UAE Central Bank website from 2009 onwards. It is in Excel file format.

I used Power Query to import it, removed unwanted columns and merged whole year data into one single table.

In the end, I had one comprehensive table for each year from 2009 till November 2023.

Then I created a Power BI report and chose 3 months, 6 months and 1 year rates as primary data points.

I chose to have median values instead of average because median values are more robust to outliers and extreme values, which can distort the average. For example, if there are a few years with very high or low-interest rates, the median will not be affected by them, while the average will. Median values can also reflect the typical or most common interest rate in a given period.
